GETTING WARPED WITH CHARLENE

Our January program features MWG member and noted knitting book author, Charlene Schurch. Charlene will demonstrate how she winds a warp back to front and installs it on her loom, ready to weave.  The basic method she uses is from Peggy Osterkamp with some additional techniques learned from teachers and online sources.  In addition, she will discuss tools that are helpful to her and which allow her to warp without help. Charlene has been weaving for two and a half years and has wound and woven more than 80 warps (some are samples – not all projects). We've all marveled at the number and quality of the items she has brought to show-and-tell since she caught the weaving bug. It will be a memorable and educational program for all of us.

 

JANUARY STASH SALE

The annual stash sale has been moved to the January 14th meeting. Please be ruthless and go through your stash, books and tools for all the items you know in your heart you'll never use. Bring them in, stick a price on them, and make someone's day. The sale will start promptly at noon. We will be on the honor system for NO SALES BEFORE NOON. That will give everyone a chance to browse before we start. Bring cash, small bills preferred, and prepare to shop for a post-holiday treat.
